In our latest blog, we’re looking at what painting transportation services are, what sectors they may be used in and by whom.
Transporting paintings may be a service required by pretty much anyone at some point or other but we thought we would break down who our services can be most useful for!
Painting Transportation
In a nutshell, painting transportation services get a painting or piece of artwork from point A to point B.
Yes, yes…couldn’t you just put it in the boot of your car or a van? Well, yes you could but if you have valuable artworks or a large number of paintings to move…this doesn’t usually make sense! It doesn’t make sense for commercial purposes either for exhibition etc, but we’ll get onto that later.
A painting transportation service – (like ours!) moves art from one location to another but that’s all we specialise in so you can be sure that whatever art is moved, it’s done safely, will arrive at its destination in one piece, is properly packaged and protected, and is insured should the worst happen.
Transporting paintings, particularly large or valuable pieces isn’t for the faint-hearted! Hence why so many different types of people, from artists to sellers, leave it down to professionals like us!
Who Can Use Professional Painting Transport Services?
Well, as mentioned, anyone can use art transport services, but below we list just some of the types of people and organisations we usually work with.
Art galleries and museums: Institutions such as art galleries and museums use our services because they want the assurance that historically important or valuable pieces of work get from A to B in good condition. We often move works between locations such as exhibitions, galleries, museums, or other institutions. Sometimes, paintings have a return journey too as many pieces are usually loaned out for a specified period.
Art Dealers: People who deal in the sale of paintings professionally or collectors won’t be strangers to the types of services we offer. We work with a wide range of dealers and collectors, moving valuable artwork between different locations. From auction houses to private collections or vice versa.
Artists: We also work directly with artists to transport their work. This can be to galleries, exhibits, events, or buyers and collectors themselves. Artists will often use specialist art transport services because there would be nothing worse than completing a piece of work and then it is damaged in transport!
Auction houses: We work with auction houses to help transport sold paintings to their new owners safely and securely. We also help transport works that are going to be sold to auction houses before sales.
Corporate art collections: Believe it or not, businesses invest in artworks for their premises, either because they want to own a private collection of works or enhance a workspace. We can help transport these collections or deliver new additions for private businesses.
Event organisers: Companies working in the events sector will use art transport services to move art from venue to venue. This category can be very varied and ranges from art events to private functions such as weddings or other celebrations.
Private collectors: Finally, one of the largest groups we work with is private individuals. We work with a wide range of people to transport art which can range from a house move to collecting paintings they have bought from an artist, auction house or another individual.
As you can see, the range of institutions and individuals we work with can be very varied! The above isn’t an exhaustive list though and we often have all sorts of requests come through the doors. This includes moving other artworks such as sculptures, antique furniture, and other precious objects.
